Vernene's Housing Fund
Donation protected
As many of you know, my mom, Vernene, was diagnosed with Large B-Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in September 2016. She has gone through 2 chemotherapy treatments and has just gone through a 3rd before having a stem cell replacement. The stem cell replacement brings her immune system to zero. She will need 24/7 care after she leaves the hospital and will have daily appointments at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. She is required to live within 30 minutes of SCCA and UW Medical Center where she is currently recovering from her stem cell replacement. She will be in the hospital until at least the end of August. That's when she will need to live close to SCCA and UW. Her original housing has fallen through so we are now needing to find her housing. There are 2 different places especially for cancer patients very close to SCCA. One is the SCCA House and the other is the Pete Gross House. Both are about $100 per night. Since my parents still have to make their house payment and other household expenses, an extra $2500-$3000 just isn't going to be easy at this time and insurance doesn't cover the costs of housing. I'm asking for anything to help with these housing costs. The less stress my mom has, the better. She shouldn't have to worry about where she is going to be after the hospital. She shouldn't have to worry about a safe place for her to recover in. She should only be focusing on her recovery and getting better. Thank you so much for thinking of my family in this time of need.
