Olivia's Cancer Battle

In June, our sweet Olivia was limping on her hind left leg. After a vet visit and X-rays, we found out that she had cancer. She had her leg removed and it was confirmed that she has a low grade fibrosarcoma. We've decided to continue her treatment with radiation therapy to give her the best chance of survival. We want as much time with her as we possibly can. I've had Olivia since she was two months old, and I never thought that at five years old, she would have cancer.The surgery to amputate her leg was about $3,600. The estimate for the radiation therapy is about $7,600. I won't know the final cost until her treatment is completed.To be honest, I feel a little silly asking for donations to help us with this. This past June we welcomed our first child, so to find out that Olivia has cancer, has been extremely difficult. While we're overjoyed with the birth of our son, it's also been hard for us to deal with Olivia's cancer diagnosis. If you know me, you know that my girls have been my children since I adopted each one of them, and that I would do anything for them. And given our current financial situation, we could use a little help. I'm currently out of work on unpaid maternity leave, plus we're paying off my hospital bills from having the baby, as well as paying off the vet bill for Olivia's amputation.I don't know that we'll reach our goal, but even just a little would help us tremendously.
