Time To Go

My friend Laura Lonigro needs our help desperately . I, myself made the suggestion to do a GOFUNDME account. It is a humbling experience to have to ask for money. Due to the slashing of funds for mental health care in this state, many people have been bereft of care. Laura is one of them. She suffers, and has been diagnosed with Bipolar disease, panic attacks, severe depression, OCD, PTSD from serious traumas. With the cuts to the mental health agencies, she has had an extremely difficult time finding help. In the process of looking for help, she has been psychiatrically admitted 7 times, 2 for med adjustments, 5 for suicidal ideations since May of 2016. She lives on SSD that amounts to 750 dollars a month. She cleans houses to supplement her income, however due to the progression of her illness and hospitalizations, she lost two of her 3 jobs. She still works on a daily basis looking for help. Her only mode of transportation was her bike, unfortunately it was stolen-then found completely stripped. Ever resourceful, she is having it fixed with old parts with help of 3 friends.Last week when she returned from her 7th hospital stay , she found an eviction note on her door. Though at first , this devastated her , she decided to find the positive , in seeing this was a gift from the universe to finally get out of the neighborhood, where she has been sexually assaulted, harassed and threatened by gang members. However, she is in desperate need of financial help. She needs to be out by October 15. . We all know how expensive it is to move. Your donation would not only help her from being homeless, but it would give her much needed hope and peace of mind. Your home should be your sanctuary, where you feel safe . Your donations would go towards these things:TRUCK RENTAL, GAS FOR THE TRUCK, MOVERS and FIRST AND LAST MONTHS RENT.These are only the essentials; we all know other expenses will pop up. Without the donations, she will be out in the street. No one should have to live like that. In spite of her circumstances, she has managed to stay clean and sober for 10.5 years. No donation is too small, every little bit helps, and Laura needs our help.In these insane times that we are living in, it is easy to become removed and apathetic to other people’s needs. However, I still have faith in humanity and that most people are good and kind. Paying it forward is contagious; even if it is a complete stranger that helps, someone out of sheer generosity, with no expectations, gets it back tenfold. Sincerely,Jeannie Macias
