Laying Our Father To Rest

Greetings Family
Sorrowfully, my brother and I were presented with the news of our father's passing which occurred on June 18, 2017 - Father's Day.
Our father suffered from mental illness for the majority of his life. For this reason, we have been apart from him for 35 years.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, our location had been hidden from my our father's side of the family.
After our father died, a family member revealed our location to a cousin who hopped in his car and drove the hour and 1/2 (from upstate NJ) that had separated us for all of these years.
In his later years, our father had established a regiment. He had gained control of his illness, his well being and his life. He purchased life insurance that had not yet matured at the time of his death.
My father was given the very important task of choosing my name. He named me Stepheneecee after my Godfather Stephen (Mr. Gouch) and his sister Denise. When my mother converted to Islam, I was given the option to legally change my name to the attribute that I had chosen. I refused. I have such a unique name that I was hopeful that my father would, one day, come looking for his first born. From that point on I was Zakee also known as Stepheneecee or vice versa depending upon what circle I was doing business in.
My brother and I are next of kin and have been tasked, along with our family, with preparing our father's earthly vessel for its transition.
