Beckett Alexander Nault was born September 10, 2015. He was my husbands and my fourth son and was perfect in every possible way. He was beautiful and had his big brothers upturned nose and the poutiest lips you have ever seen.
The day before his birth, we had a routine ultrasound where we found out his heart had stopped beating. We had went in to the ultrasound excited to find out the gender but left forever changed. The next day I was induced, and following a 12 hour labor, Beckett was born.
Following his birth, we were able to hold and love on our sweet boy for four whole hours. Although truthfully, it will never be enough. Our tiny one changed our lives forever and his presence will echo on. Although his life was short, it was not without measure. As his parents, we are determined to bring hope to others -in Beckett's name.
Every year for Beckett's birthday, we will choose a charity/cause to support and will fundraise in honor of our precious boy. Our gift to him will be to give to others and to spread hope along the way. Through us, Beckett lives on. He was here, he is loved, and he will not be forgotten. This is his legacy.
This year we are raising money to purchase a cuddle cot for our local hospital (the hospital where Beckett was born). A cuddle cot is a device that allows parents of deceased infants the ability to spend more time with their baby. It cools the body of the baby and preserves it. Instead of hours, the family can have days. This gift of extended time allows grieving families the chance to say goodbye, take pictures, and bond, all before leaving the hospital. Please help us support other families as they experience the worst tragedy possible.
