Help Arianna Fight Neurofibromatosis!

The picture above is of our amazing 3 year old daughter Arianna. In December of 2012, after noticing her vision and mobility deteriorate, she was diagnosed with multiple brain tumours affecting her optic nerves as a result of a disease called Neurofibromatosis. It was found that Arianna had lost all vision in her right eye and has very limited vision in her left. Beginning in January 2013 Arianna started a 72 week long course of chemotherapy in an effort to maintain the vision she has left and hopefully stop the tumours from growing. In Alberta the only facilities that can accommodate her treatments are Edmonton and Calgary. Arianna and our family live and work in the remote Lubicon community of Little Buffalo. This means that we now must travel the 500km to Edmonton and back while attempting to maintain our jobs despite only being able to work 3 days per week. The costs of hotels became impossible almost immediately after treatment began. We were able to find a rental accommodation in Edmonton near to the hospital for 1500.00 per month. While much cheaper than a hotel, this additional cost as well as the cost of fuel has been very difficult for us to manage while only being able to work half the time and having to take on extra staff in order to prevent the loss of our jobs entirely. We are so grateful for the charity of our friends, family and strangers who have helped us battle through this with Arianna so far and all we can promise at this point is to continue to pay it forward in every way we can.
