Dolly's Medical Care

We believe Dolly was used as a breeding dog for a puppy mill. She wandered up to the vet clinic I use and they were able to lure her into a kennel with food. She was extremely skiddish and scared. She had scars from a breeding rack. They vetted and spayed her. I am a dog trainer and offered to rehab her behavior and find a home for her. We transported her from Fort Worth to Duncanville, Tx where we had a foster set up. As they were taking her into the home she suddenly pulled out of her harness, bit through her leash and then bolted. Transport followed her for 2 miles but lost her as it became dark. We immediately used Next Door and social media to get word out that Dolly was missing and extremely scared. Two days passed and everyone was looking for her including Animal Control, Duncanville police and neighbors in the area. We finally got a sighting into 3rd day and two sightings the fourth day. We were in process of putting out traps when a resident found Dolly and called us. Dolly was hit by a car and dragged. We learned she also was attacked by coyotes. Dolly has a broken pelvis on her left side and a broken ankle on her right side along with numerous bite marks and lacerations. At this point all can be repaired and vet believes surgeries are humane and should be done. She may need multiple surgeries on each broken area. We have already invested $3000.00 in Dolly.  The total estimate without complications may reach $9000.00.
