Family, Friends, and anyone else who Wayne has touched in his life:
On July 27th, 2013 Wayne was in a life-changing accident. On a day just like any other, Wayne and a few friends had been hanging out in his back yard swimming and having fun just like any other summer night. Wayne had dove into our pool like he always did, unfortunately this time was different, and Wayne hit the bottom fracturing his C5 vertebrae. He was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital. Two hours later, he was undergoing life saving surgery, a spinal fusion of his C4, C5 and C6. He is now paralyzed from his chest down. We still do not know his prognosis, but if you know Wayne, he is a very strong willed person, and persistent in his rehabilitation.
After a long 22 days in intensive care Wayne was finally released and transported to Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, In West Orange NJ. Although Wayne was in the United States Army Reserves at the time of the accident, he had no health coverage. We have started this page to help raise as much money as we can to help with the enormous cost of his medical bills.
