Miracles DO Happen

Drake Burrell is in the hospital. He had a liver transplant a few weeks ago and is still in the ICU. A month ago they told us he had about a 5 % chance of living and then a miracle happened- a liver transplant within 24 hours of being put on the list. He's not out of the woods yet, but each day is a step in the right direction. He is being monitored around the clock by an outstanding team of experts at UIC Hospital. While insurance will certainly cover most of the medical expenses that accompany a 2 month (and counting) hospital stay - Drake and Caiti will certainly receive unexpected costs associated with this event. There is also their beautiful 9 month old daughter Aundrea that needs simple things like diapers and formula. Drake and Caiti are amazing people, that were just starting a life together with their precious daughter Aundrea. Drake has always been so generous and caring to others and it's killing him that he can't provide for Caiti and the baby right now. We want him to concentrate on healing and getting himself better, not stressing over the care of his loved ones. He hasn't physically seen or held his 9 month old daughter in over 6 weeks. Caitlin has been trying to balance her time and energy at the hospital and taking care of a baby- it's been a tough few months for both of them. ( for me too - Caiti's mom ) I've always believed in the pay it forward mentality and now is the time I have to ask all the family and friends of our family to help support them during this difficult time.
