Osborn's Own "Time of Trouble."
Consider Funding Tom during his unforeseen/unanticipated "Time of Trouble."
As thanks for your support, those who are able to commit $40 or more (toward the $7,000 goal) will be mailed a signed copy of Tom's new book, CREATING HAPPINESS. HAPPINESS is filled with Tom's amazing personal stories that happen to make a point about "creating happiness" in your own life. It's due to be published April/May 2018.
On August 2, 2017, Tom went in for his 15th surgery and the 6th surgery in the last 5 years. Number 15 took Tom by complete surprise: a painful surgery to repair the torn rotator cuff and torn SLAP of his right shoulder.
The sports medicine surgeon says that recovery time is an intense 6 months. During that time Tom's right arm will be in jeopardy, as he tries to do everything significant with his left arm.
This medical surprise -- and with it 6 months of additional monthly expenses -- was foreshadowed by 3 other surprises.
(1) He received notice that his retirement would no longer fund his medical insurance premiums for the last 7 months of 2017.
(2) His medical insurance provider dropped him. But Tom did some drastic damage control, and the company reinstated him.
(3) And the current owner of his apartment complex raised his rent $75/month -- the 3rd raise in as many years.
All the while Tom had been dealing with debilitating upper body muscle pain (the source was 2 tears in the right shoulder) for the last 8 months, along with on-going pain from peripheral neuropathy and its resulting insomnia.
The Amount to Be Raised: $7,000
An updated realistic figure of $7,000 is the reasonable amount necessary to see Tom through January of 2018 -- a painful time when he is totally tied up in physical recovery and unable to work to supplement his income. And the rest of the $7,000 will supplement Tom's fixed income through the first half of 2018.
The $7,000 amount will go towards: (1) additional out-of-pocket expenses associated with recovery from surgery, (2) monthly payment of his increased medical insurance premium, (3) the increase of his monthly apartment rent, (4) re-registerring his gifted car for use during the winter months, (5) and (as money remains) a token amount to help cover kittycat Gretta's monthly care and limited emergency care.
All-in-all it's a 6-month vote of confidence to provide support during Tom Osborn's "Time of Trouble."
