Help Kit Kick Cancer

On the evening of July 20th, my mother, Kitten, was notified via telephone that the result of a needle biopsy, performed earlier in the week, was positive for cancer. The type of cancer involved is an invasive form of breast cancer. This unexpected news arrives at the same exact age that her mother, my grandmother, was also diagnosed with her bout of cancer- an inflammatory form of breast cancer.

The doctors have instructed my mother to travel immediately out of state where surgery will take place as soon as possible. Her first appointment has been set for the middle of next week, when the details of her impending treatment plan, surgery, and chemo or radiation expectations will be firmed up. There is so much that is unknown at this point, including a return date, but as new information comes in, her family will help to keep her supporters updated on this page.

Anyone who knows Kit personally knows her determined spirit and loving nature. While she is preparing to saddle up for the rough ride ahead, there will no doubt be many trying days, with new obstacles to overcome and challenges to accept. Any encouragement and well-wishes are deeply and sincerely appreciated.
