Mark Moseley Stroke Recovery Fund

Mark Moseley is a very well-respected and loved engineer, guitarist, producer, and photographer in the Nashville music community and beyond. A dedicated player and sought after producer, he is also the owner/operator of Sound Control Recording Studio, as well as Photography and Videography by Mark Moseley.

My name is Justin Ryan. I am Mark and Donna's adopted son and longtime employee of Sound Control Studio. I set up this campaign to assist them because on June 18th, 2017, Mark suffered a devastating stroke while doing what he loves, making someone else look and sound great. Not knowing it was a stroke, Mark suspected he was experiencing an exacerbation from his M.S. of 13 years, and continued with the video production. After arriving home that evening and not being able to move or speak plainly, he again suspected M.S. exhaustion and went to bed. Mark lay suffering from a stroke for 2 1/2 hours. His wife, Donna, said it was eerily quiet and realized she could not hear Mark snoring from the bedroom. She opened the bedroom door and Mark was lying there, unable to move , mumbling for help. Rushing to call 911, the paramedics arrived and confirmed he was having a stroke . The E.R. doctors could not treat Mark with the stroke medicine as there is a 3 hour window of administration, and Mark was 6 hours out from the onset of the stroke. The risk of a second stroke was higher now, as starting the alternate treatment takes longer to stabilize the patient. He was sent to ICU for 2 days, then to the stroke floor of Summit Medical Center, and then to the Acute Rehab floor, where he is currently recovering.

The stroke has affected Mark's entire left side of his body. While tests are ongoing to uncover the extent of any further damage, the doctors and therapists are optimistic he can regain function. Those that know him will be happy to hear Mark's larger than life personality still shines bright, with his humor and signature charm very much intact. However, there is a lot of uncertainty ahead in his long road to recovery.

Due to this life-altering event, Mark is limited in the work that he can do right now. He and Donna Kay are in need of assistance to get him through this tough time that will undoubtedly require lengthy physical therapy to regain his normal ability.

The money raised here will go to getting him through this time of physical therapy and healing. Helping to make handicap adjustments throughout the house and assisting with medical bills.

Donna Kay has been communicating with doctors to determine the best course of action. Meanwhile, the expenses are overwhelming, and will continue to mount. Any support you are able to provide will help give Mark the best shot at recovery and alleviate the increasing financial strain he and his family are under. Thank you for your help in getting Mark Moseley back to making us all sound and look amazing where he belongs.
