Back in February, my brother and sister-in-law and their two sons, Noah (3) and Dylan (2), were blessed with a beautiful newborn baby daughter and sister. Anna Elizabeth is perfect in every way! She has beautiful blue eyes, the color of the Caribbean ocean. She does nothing but smile and give you the cutest reactions every time you say a word to her. Anna truly is a blessing to their family and ours!
As perfect as she is, Anna unfortunately was born with a very serious heart condition, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Pulmonic Valve Stenosis, that has resulted in several trips to the hospital and eventually could lead to a heart transplant if the medications and treatments she is on now don't go well. Because of this my brother, Ben, and sister-in-law, Jamie, have been through some very hard and stressful times over the past couple months, and they have a long journey ahead of them (although we are all praying that she gets better very soon!). Being a parent of four kids myself, I can't even imagine what they are going through. But I do want them to know that we love them and are praying for them!
If you are reading this, you probably already know that Ben is a resident Doctor at Penn State and works around 75 hours every week. I am so proud of his hard work and commitment to their family, but finishing his education has temporarily moved their family away from the all the family and support network in their home state of Indiana. While the family and friends can get out to Pennsylvania intermittently to help out, this is by no means an optimal situation for making sure that they are able to spend as much time as possible with their ailing newborn.

Ben and Jamie are great people who are doing everything right, and they have been dealt a very difficult hand at a very difficult point in their lives'. Please help them by contributing whatever you can to help them pay for babysitters for their other two children while they spend time with Anna in the hospital, maybe help pay some medical bills and if nothing else, send some prayers their way because they are very much needed at this point.
They need our help now and I can guarantee that they will appreciate every dollar, kind word, and/or prayer they receive from every person.
