Help Pjotr get a new kidney!

Liebe Freunde, liebe Leser,

 

Pjotr Meshvinski ist 55 Jahre jung und braucht dringend eine neue Niere. Er ist Ehemann und Vater von 2 Jungs (19 und 32 Jahre) und war bis vor kurzem noch engagierter Cellist und Leiter des von ihm gegründeten „Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg“.

 

Pjotr ist in St. Petersburg geboren, lebt allerdings seit mehr als 30 Jahren in Deutschland und hat seit ungefähr genau so lange Diabetes Typ 1. Er hat in Moskau, St. Petersburg und Hamburg Cello studiert und gründete vor einiger Zeit zusammen mit seiner Ehefrau und Geigerin Natalia Alenitsyna das „Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg“. Mit diesem Orchester wollen sie an die Tradition des vor mehr als 80 Jahren gegründeten und nur wenig später wieder aufgelösten Jüdischen Kammerorchester Hamburg anknüpfen und gegen den heute wieder vermehrt auftretenden Antisemitismus ankämpfen.

 

Allerdings kann Pjotr momentan aufgrund seiner gesundheitlichen Lage nicht mehr an der Arbeit des Orchesters teilnehmen. Der Diabetes hat nämlich im Laufe der Zeit seinen Körper, vor allem seine Nierenfunktion, massiv belastet. Vor ungefähr drei Jahren musste er für zwei Wochen auf die Intensivstation, da seine Nieren vollständig versagt hatten. Seitdem muss er drei Mal die Woche für mehrere Stunden zur Dialyse fahren, damit eine Maschine künstlich die Blutwäsche, also die Funktion der Niere, übernehmen kann. Diese Form der Therapie ist als Übergangslösung zwar möglich, allerdings ist ein normales Leben langfristig mit der Dialyse unmöglich, da diese nur einen kleinen Teil der Arbeit der Niere leistet, und somit auch andere Organe von Pjotr nach und nach beschädigt werden. Als Folge davon mussten bereits einige Zehen an seinem Fuß amputiert werden und auch seine rechte Hand verursacht ihm durch die unzureichende Blutwäsche große Leiden, sodass Pjotr momentan nicht mehr dem Cellospiel, seinem Beruf und seiner Leidenschaft seit mehr als 50 Jahren, nachgehen kann, was für ihn seelisch den größten Schmerz verursacht. Da man in Deutschland bis zu 10 Jahre auf eine Spenderniere warten muss, ist ungewiss, ob es Pjotr überhaupt jemals schafft, eine Transplantation zu erhalten, und wenn ja, in welchem Zustand er dann sein wird. Denn momentan verschlechtert sich seine Gesundheit mit der Zeit immer weiter.

 

Vor einiger Zeit allerdings wurden wir auf eine Firma in Israel mit dem Namen „MedLead“ aufmerksam. Sie wird vom israelischen Gesundheitsministerium unterstützt und bietet Transplantationsleistungen und anschließende Behandlung in führenden Transplantationszentren in verschiedenen Ländern der Welt an. Die Wartezeit für diese Operation beträgt statt mehrerer Jahre nur einige Monate, da sich die Firma selber um die administrativen Probleme kümmert und sich auch an hunderte von ehrenamtlichen Organisationen wendet, die geeignete Spender finden sollen. Hierbei wird dem Spender kein Geld für die Transplantation gezahlt, er tut dies lediglich aus altruistischen Gründen. Der Prozess geschieht somit im Einklang mit dem Gesetz in Israel, Deutschland und dem Land, in welchem die Operation durchgeführt wird. Eine Nierentransplantation mithilfe dieser Firma wäre die einzige Lösung, mit der Pjotr bald eine neue Niere bekommen und sich wieder dem Cellospiel und dem Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg zuwenden kann.

Allerdings sind die Kosten für die Leistungen dieser Firma sehr hoch. Sie belaufen sich insgesamt auf 150.000€ und setzen sich so zusammen:

 

50.000€:

- Organisation und Verwaltung der Operation

- Flugtickets in das Land, in dem die Transplantation durchgeführt wird

- Unterkunft, Transportation, Hilfestellungen und sprachliche Übersetzung während des gesamten Aufenthalts

 

100.000€:

- Medizinische Untersuchungen vor der Transplantation

- Medikamente, die während des Aufenthalts im Transplantations-Land benötigt werden

- Die Transplantation in einer Privatklinik

- Rehabilitation im Krankenhaus nach der Operation

 

Da die Operation nicht in der EU durchgeführt wird, übernehmen deutsche Krankenkassen diese Kosten nicht. Leider können wir diesen Preis selber auch nicht aufbringen und haben daher diese Spendenkampagne ins Leben gerufen.

 

Wir hoffen, dass Sie Pjotr zu einer neuen Niere verhelfen und ihm somit wieder ein normales, mit Musik erfülltes Leben ermöglichen können.

Pjotr was born in St. Petersburg, but has lived in Germany for more than 30 years and has had type 1 diabetes for about as long. He studied cello in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Hamburg and founded the "Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg" with his wife and violinist Natalia Alenitsyna some time ago. However, due to his health situation, Pjotr can no longer participate in the work of the orchestra at the moment. In the course of time, his diabetes has put a massive strain on his body, especially his kidney function. About three years ago he had to go to intensive care for two weeks because his kidneys had completely failed. Since then, he has had to go to dialysis three times a week for several hours so that a machine can take on the work of the kidneys and artificially wash his blood. This form of therapy is possible as an interim solution, but a normal life is impossible in the long term with dialysis, as this only does a small part of the work of the kidneys and thus damages other organs gradually. As a result, some toes on his foot had to be amputated and his right hand is also causing him great suffering due to insufficient blood washing, so that Pjotr is currently no longer able to play the cello, his job and his passion for more than 50 years, which for him causes the greatest mental pain.

Since you have to wait up to 10 years for a donor kidney in Germany, it is uncertain whether Pjotr will ever be able to receive a transplant, and if so, in what condition he will be. At the moment his health continues to deteriorate over time.

 

Some time ago, however, we became aware of a company in Israel called "MedLead". It is supported by the Israeli Ministry of Health and offers transplant services and subsequent treatment in leading transplant centers in various countries around the world. The waiting time for this operation is only a few months instead of several years, as the company takes care of the administrative problems itself and also contacts hundreds of voluntary organizations who are supposed to find suitable donors. The donor is not paid any money for the transplant, he only does this for altruistic reasons. Thus, the process is carried out in accordance with the law in Israel, Germany and the country in which the operation is carried out. A kidney transplant with the help of this company would be the only solution with which Pjotr can soon get a new kidney and turn back to playing the cello and the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg.

 

However, the costs for the services of this company are very high. They amount to a total of €150,000 and are made up as follows:

 

€50,000:

- Organization and management of the operation

- Air tickets to the country where the transplant will be carried out

- Accommodation, transportation, assistance and language translation during the entire stay

 

€100,000:

- Medical examinations before the transplant

- Medicines that are required during the stay in the transplant country

- The transplant in a private clinic

- Rehabilitation in the hospital after the operation

 

Since the operation is not carried out in the EU, German health insurance companies do not cover these costs. Unfortunately, we cannot bring up the money ourselves either, which is why we launched this fundraising campaign.
