Hope For Shannon!

This is for my friend and colleague, Shannon, who is an endoscopy nurse. He is happy for me to set this page. Shannon is a happy-go-lucky Aussie larrikin who is always up to some mischief or playing a prank. Sadly this is no prank! Shannon has cancer (an aggressive form of lymphoma). It is heart-breaking to see him in a hospital bed undergoing gruelling chemotherapy including needles into his spine to inject chemotherapy straight into his spinal fluid. It is curable but the next 12 months will be a journey; comparing it to a roller coaster ride would be an under-statement. Shannon is an enrolled nurse in endoscopy unit. He is also doing a university course to become a Registered Nurse. He has been doing so well in the course and this is his last 6 months. On his last trip to Bathurst, he went to the local ED with some back pain. A good doctor in ED actually examined him and diagnosed lymphoma! Thank God for good doctors, eh? Shannon is an enthusiastic nurse who likes nothing better than fixing things. He is a fixer but this is not something that he can fix himself. This is going to take its time. Shannon has so many friends and family who want to do something to help him. What can we do? Money can't buy health but certainly would help with bills. Yes, there will be a few bills in the next 12 months, especially of the unforeseen expenses variety. Shannon is a nurse and Krystal works in retail. They have an 18 month old son Flynn. Shannon is a family man who would do anything for his family, especially to make sure he is back in good health, in time to run around and kick a ball in the park with Flynn. They have modest incomes and a modest household budget. They get by easily on a normal day but the next 12 months will surely stretch them. Here is where we can help.
