Kona Kat Kitty Rescue

It began as a simple visit to San Bernardino City Shelter last October looking for a pup I had rescued from the street who managed to get away the next morning...I started going the shelter daily looking for him. I saw people coming in with carriers and leaving with many dogs and cats... I began asking questions as trying to figure out how I could help. One thing led to another and after focusing on dogs for a few months, realized the cats seemed to have no hope of getting out alive. Since then I have pulled no less than 550 plus kittens and cats that would have otherwise been euthanized..Typically they come home with me and are set up in comfortable surroundings while i wait out their isolation period as there are deadly diseases running rampant there and they can't go directly into someones home without risk to their animals. This can be as short as 2 weeks but some I have had for months. I vaccinate, de-worm, have spayed or neutered when old enough and then try to find forever homes. Many times they are sick and need vetting or constant monitoring and medications and fluids given to save them. I dedicate the bulk of my days feeding, cleaning, networking, visiting shelters, transporting, etc. I feel very blessed I have been given this opportunity to make a difference. Pledges help me to be able to continue my efforts... It is not unusual to go through 2 big bags of food and 2 large containers of litter a week.
