Help Me Help My Friend

This is my friend Dona Alexander Rowe. She lives in Texas. She is married and has an awesome 8-year-old daughter named Gracie. Her little family is in dire need right now, though she'd be the last person to ever ask for help and I know she'll feel guilty that I'm asking on her behalf.

I've been friends with Dona for almost 15 years now. She's a wonderful Christian woman with a generous and loving soul and she has ALWAYS been one of the first people to lend a hand to someone else in need. Now I want to help her. I need your help!

Dona has had MANY serious medical issues in the last year and a half. What began in January 2016 as a hospital stay to have a facial infection lanced led to her being overloaded with fluids and antibiotics, which in turn caused kidney failure and congestive heart failure. Her kidneys were able to recover, but unfortunately her heart did not. She had surgery for placement of an AICD (pacemaker), but the site on her chest where they placed it became infected with MRSA, which meant it had to be removed. In the meantime, she suffered through several bouts of pneumonia.

After waiting a few months for her wounds to heal and her pneumonia to finally be gone, they took her to surgery again and implanted a different pacemaker called an SICD. While recuperating from that surgery, Dona began having severe lower back pain and was eventually no longer able to walk. It took many months of seeing different doctors and nothing being done because she cannot have an MRI test with a pacemaker in her body. She finally found an orthopedic doctor who ordered some other tests and discovered a congenital problem. She has gone through a series of spinal injections that were not helpful. She has been confined to bed for the last 10 months and can't walk or sit in a chair at this point because it's too painful.

Due to her medical problems Dona can no longer work. Dona lost her job in May 2016. Her husband Corey lost his job in September 2016. She lost her health insurance in January 2017. She began receiving medical care through Medicaid finally in May 2017. Dona and Corey have depleted their savings account and retirement account. They have depleted all their available resources in the last year and a half including eliminating expenses like cable TV and internet and their second car. They are trying to keep their heads above water, but they are drowning. Any little bit of extra cash we have to spare can help them pay their mortgage, their electricity bill, their car payment, etc. PLEASE help me throw them a life line.
