Hi there, we are 7 stray dogs who live in the desert city of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, India. 3 females and 4 males. We were first noticed as little pups by the owner of a hotel who cared for us during the first couple months of our lives. In India, it is not a very high number of pups that survive after being born by a stray mother due to lack of nutrition and cleanliness. Yet all 7 of us survived because of the love and care from the staff at the hotel we were born outside of. Now we are about 5-6 months old and we are still so trusting of humans but unfortunately cannot tell the difference between the foreigners who will pet us and give us loving attention or the locals who will kick and hit us, yell at us and shoo us away. We so desperately don't want to grow up to be like all the other stray dogs here, malnourished, scared of humans, scarred all over our body from being abused, eating plastic and rotten scraps out of garbage cans or not being able to receive medical attention if we are sick or injured!
All three females have been spayed and we will soon all be vaccinated and have our international health certificates written up.
We need approx $1000+ for each of us for transportation fees from India to Canada as well as any medical costs we may need. As of now we are just looking for donations to begin the process, but we are also actively looking for homes as well. Because the lady trying to relocate us from India to Canada is not a registered rescue, Canadian laws don't allow us to be shipped into the country without a predetermined home. So we need foster care (or forever care) as soon as we enter the country. So please, donate whatever you can, every little bit helps. But also please tell all your friends about us who may be interested in fostering us or giving us our furrrrever home!
We have watched some of our friends make it out of the desert to comfortable caring homes in Canada and we are hoping to follow in their tracks and one day soon find ourselves in the nurturing safe home of a loving family.
