One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

To say I have been through a lot this past year would be an understatement. I have had my life turned upside down. But yet here I still stand strong. But no matter how strong I am, there are certain challenges that I just can't seem to overcome.

After my divorce, it was a fresh start and I began working on my goal of keeping the home I had for 10 1/2 years and worked so hard to get. Things were never handed to me, and as unconventional or hard it was, I prevailed. I had made it. Homeowner, Father, Husband, and Successful IT Manager.

But now facing a mortgage alone, with alimony and child support as well as legal fees, it wasn't working out the way it was supposed to. I tried to refinance when rates were low to make the mortgage easier to swallow. I was denied, not once, or twice, but three times after being promised by the loan officers they could help me out of my situation. Too much debt not enough income, even though lowering the payment would be a great help.

Broken and beaten, I decided the only recourse was to sell the home I had raised my two beautiful girls in, but even there I have met challenges. I missed two mortgage payments in as many months and now the sale of my home is in jeopardy. I have a buyer, an offer that was accepted, but with commissions and closing costs, there is a shortfall.

I pleaded with the bank and went through all of the proper channels to work with them as much as I could, but as a large bank they seem to have no sympathy.

So here I am, sitting here, wondering what will happen next. I have a lot of pride and it has taken a lot of courage to type this message, almost in tears again. I need $2300 to make my loan current and be able to closeon the sale of my home. I have been selling off anything of value but that has not amounted to much, but it is something. Until my Air Conditioner broke and I had to spend all of the money I had saved and raised on repairs.

The most difficult words I have ever expressed, "I need help!"
