Kicking Cancer to the Curb!!

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Mariah and I have started this page as a way of helping my Mom. It is amazing how a person’s life can change in a split second and that is exactly what happened for my Mom. For anyone that knows my mom knows how dedicated she is to everyone or everything she comes in contact with. She is a hard worker, gives her time freely to a few organizations and has been a dedicated single Mom to me. However she needs our help at this time. In April she was diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Cancer .Since then she has been operated to remove the mass along with 11 lymph nodes from her underarm, four of which were cancerous. My Mom has a good outlook and is very optimistic that she will beat this. In her words, “I am going to kick it to the curb” In order to” kick it to the curb” there is a long battle ahead with many ups and downs, many emotions, stress and financial burden. A lot of you reading this already know my Mom also suffers with Crohn’s disease with complications (for the past 31 years). She had been in remission for over a decade but all of that changed with the Breast Cancer diagnosis. She had to stop taking the medication she was taking for Crohn’s and with everything going on with the Breast cancer she has gone into a flare up She now has to battle not one but two diseases at the same time. One medication to help one goes against the other making things more difficult. To add more to her already difficult situation the surgery is not healing the way it should and she has to go for bandage changes daily. The Crohn’s flare up and the surgery not healing have delayed starting treatment for the cancer. The vicious cycle has created more stress and more worry.

The past few months have been extremely challenging for her. She hasn’t been able to work since the surgery on May 31st and won’t be able to for some time due to the upcoming months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments that she will have to go through. She doesn’t have private insurance nor was she ever able to obtain one due to the Crohn’s. Yes we live in a province that has free Medicare but not everything is free and then there is the travel. Her specialist for Crohn’s is in Montreal and because of her situation of battling two things at once she is traveling to Montreal weekly at least twice a week if not more.

Please help support Mom’s fight by making a donation today. Every little bit helps.

Donations will be used to help with travel costs, living expenses and medical expenses not covered.

I understand if you cannot financially help but please do share this message to help my Mom.

Thank you in advance for your support.
