Supportive Help For A Mother In Need

I, Maria Val, and Brenda Stevens Scott are launching this GoFundMe on behalf of our dear friend, Yanira Corvera. On the night of Friday, July 7, 2017, Yanira's youngest daughter, Jessica La Santa, and her boyfriend of nearly five years, Paul Then, were in a horrific crash involving 5 motorcycles and a construction vehicle on the Inner Loop of 695. Tragically, Paul and one other cyclist were killed at the scene and another cyclist passed away later at a local area hospital. Various others were critically injured and transported to shock trauma and other area hospitals. Jessica, one of the survivors, sustained multiple injuries, including a perforated spleen and kidney, broken ribs, collar bone, clavicle, foot and shoulder, as well as, fractured facet joints etc. She remains in serious condition in a surgical ICU unit in Baltimore. Yanira, who lives out of state in Florida, having received the call all parents dread, with the help of friends,was able to fly to Baltimore on Saturday, July 8th, to be with her daughter. As Jessica's injuries are many and serious, she remains in a fragile state, and Yanira will need to remain with her daughter at least two months. Yanira's employer does not pay her unless she is at work. We are hoping to raise sufficient donations to cover Yanira's expenditures while in Maryland with Jessica, as well as covering her apartment rent, utilities and car insurance in Florida for approximately two months. Yanira is a hard working single Mom, who successfully raised two beautiful, kind, intelligent daughters by herself and who now finds herself in this heart wrenching, desperate situation. We are asking all of our friends, family and good Samaritans to please contribute from your heart with compassion, to help Yanira in this very worthy cause.
