Help Me Get H.U.R.T. In January 2014
I am an ultramarathon athlete who discovered running about 2.5 years ago. I run to enjoy the outdoors, to challenge myself, to set an example and to raise funds for worthy causes.
In February 2013, I ran the Destin Beach 50 mile race, my first attempt at that distance. In March 2013, I ran the appropriately named Georgia Death Race, a 60-65 mile technical trail race with an elevation change of 30,000 feet.
I am now training for the January 18, 2014 H.U.R.T. 100 100 mile trail race in Honolulu, HI. I am number 25 of 49 on the participant wait list for this very challenging race that features 50,000 feet of elevation change and a 36 hour time limit.
I am raising money to cover travel expenses from Atlanta, Georgia to Honolulu, Hawaii to participate in the H.U.R.T. 100. In the unlikely event I do not get picked from the wait list, I will still travel to Hawaii to participate as a pacer/volunteer. Any money above the minimum travel costs will be donated to the Special Operations Warrior Fund (SOWF).
I am raising funds for the SOWF in conjunction with running this event. The SOWF charity provides funds and other support to educate the children of fallen Special Forces operators. Please click on the following link if you wish to learn more about the SOWF:
