Help Kris Overcome Cancer

Hey everyone:My name is Kris and I'm seeking your help and support throughout this challenging life event. On June 23rd, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Five days later I underwent a radical orchiectomy to manage the cancer. I've been healing for the past month since the surgery. Fortunately enough, I learned from my oncologist that my cancer is in its early stage type: IB. According to the American Cancer Society I'm looking at a 5-year disease free survival rate that exceeds 98%! With that news you're probably thinking "Let's celebrate!" but further testing and review needs to take place before my oncologist can tailor a treatment plan that's suited for my case. Either way this treatment will have a drastic effect on my well being. I've been out of work for a month already with my income being greatly reduced and will continue to be out of work while undergoing treatment. Cancer treatments can greatly harm male fertility with the possibility of leaving a patient sterile. Since I already had surgery and one side removed, and I now have to undergo treatment, I can't deny the option of sperm storage (which is greatly expensive) before starting this treatment. Of course someday I would love to have a family of my own. I have an amazing girlfriend, Kristen, whose been exactly the person I need by my side to support me and aid in every aspect of the healing process. She's even made various adjustments to her stressful work schedule to take me to all my medical visits. Even taking on a financial gap. As you can imagine. The financial strain is a challenge in of itself. Bills and the cost of living aren't made any easier when you're sick or injured. A little bit about me. Since leaving high school I began volunteer work in my local ambulance. In my seven years of being involved in emergency medical services I'd like to think that I made a difference in my community. I currently work as a phlebotomist for a major blood bank and continue to be involved in the efforts of saving lives. I've always found fulfillment in being part of the medical field.I can't thank you all enough for taking the time out of your day to read this and know that every bit helps.
