Rajasthani Caravan aims to promote, preserve, and share Rajasthani culture. Performances will include various elements of the Rajasthani arts: colorful costumes, spinning dance of the snake-charmer, devotional singing, unusual instruments, story-telling, and ancient love songs.
Katrina Ji, Dancer & Tour Organizer performs Rajasthani Folk Dances along with UNESCO artists, Ustad Arba Music Group and Junaid Younus (Famous COKE STUDIO and Playback Singer from Pakistan) will play Rajasthani Folk, Sufi and Hindu Music, a unique fusion of India & Pakistan. Juniad's love for Rajasthani culture can be seen through his performance of the Rajasthani Folk Song, Khari Neem on Coke Studios Show “Sound of the Nation” TV Program. Thari is a variant of Marwari dialect of Rajasthani language and is spoken in western parts of Jaisalmer and Barmer districts of Rajasthan in India and eastern parts of Sindh province of Pakistan.
Their first tour was a blazing success across the entire USA over 2 months in 2014. Then, on Feb 3rd 2015 they performed together for the first time at the Jaisalmer Desert Festival along with many other International artists in Rajasthan, India.
Rajasthani Caravan is coming for second USA Tour! Last time we were able to raise the funds needed to cover everyone's flights from India. We are hoping to do it again. As with any arts project, there are many expenses and not a lot of resources. Flights for 5 performers is around $5500. Tour van is around $4500P3 Visa is over $4000Travel expenses are over $2500Misc expenses $8,000Total expenses approx $25,000 Luckily we keep costs down with home stays and cooking daily.
