PLEASE HELP SAVE A LIFE
Ni Luh Sukarini is a 27 year old mother of two: 5 and 2 years old. She and her husband are Balinese and though Bali is rich, the vast majority of its population is not. Luh and her family have NOTHING except the basics: food and clothing and they have been provided basically through Luh's work. She is a smart and beautiful young woman and desperately needs help.
I visited her when I heard she was ill. I had no idea how ill. I asked why she wasn't in the hospital. Money. The specialist she had seen once was affiliated with one of the private -- the best hospital in Bali-- which meant having to pay. She was going to stay home and quietly die. I could not just leave her to die knowing I had money to help. I got her to the hospital and she is doing well but she is still too weak to move. As soon as she is stronger, she will be moved for full recovery to a public hospital which is covered by government insurance.
But for now, the bills keep coming in. I had no idea how expensive a hospital in a third world country could be. So far the bill is $6,000 and is predicted that by the time she can transfer it will be as high as $10,000 or more. I've already contributed $4,000, but cannot afford to cover the rest. Her husband is borrowing money from friends and family but they are no better off than he is. If he can raise even $2,000 I will be surprised.
Please please help. She's too young and two important to die.
