Adopting Baby Couri

Friends and Family, we are adopting! We began our journey by becoming approved for foster care. We anticipated Couri Kiddo #2 to come from the foster care system but God had another idea!
In June of this year, a friend shared some information about a Chinese baby girl born with Down syndrome, here in the U.S. whose parents were putting her up for adoption. Our friend asked if we were interested and of course we were so we submitted our family profile to be considered. During that process, we learned that this was a private adoption and that other families were being considered. Further, because the baby was so young and interest in her was likely to be high, the possibility of our family being chosen was rather low (especially since our approval was for foster care and not private adoption).We felt that submitting our interest was all we could really do and that if God wanted us to walk this path and adopt this baby, then He would make a way. There were calls and emails for information and lots of waiting.
On July 3, we received the call that the birth parents chose us as the adoptive parents for this precious baby! She will be able to come home to us quite soon--pending the completion of some last-minute home study details. We are over-the-moon excited about her and are more than ready to bring her home.
But since this will be a private adoption, there are costs that we did not (nor could not) foresee or for which we could plan. We are humbly asking for donations to help us offset the rather great cost of adopting this baby girl. Some costs we know of right now include, post-placement visits (there will be 3 over the course of the first 6 months), attorney's fees, & gas costs.
We also ask that you pray for us during this time. We believe that God brought us the mountain, so to speak, in orchestrating this thing that we thought we would never be able to do. We believe this child is to be part of our family.
