Help keep Kitt alive

Spende geschützt
HI ! My name is Emma and I have set this page up to try and help my friend Kitt. For the past Ten years of Kitts life she has been very unwell, Kitt is 37 years old and lives on her own with her son Xavier, she is now in the final stages of renal failure and is waiting for a kidney pancreas transplant which could take another 2 years due to her rare blood type and previous blood transfusions.Kitt was diagnosed with Type ONE Diabetes as a 5 year old and has battled the disease for the last 32 years along with numerous other health issues (see story below)I am seeking funding to be able to buy her a Glucose monitor/implant which monitors her levels and is able to contact people and the ambulance if she becomes unconscious in a diabetic coma which is over $1000 and with on going costs. This would give her son and herself a lot of assurance her life is a lot safer. We need her to stay alive to reach this transplant. Long standing chronic critical illness also means huge medical bills, she currently takes 18 different medications daily and a few are not on the PBS, for example one costs $70 per week. It would be great to also get her up to date with her medical costs and help her in the future until the transplant.Thankyou for taking the time to read my campaign and for donating. Please read on to see the whole story of my friend Kitt.

'Short version of my story is at age 5 I was diagnosed with Type ONE diabetes, which made me develop immune break downs. Shortly after I got depression, endometriosis and poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I have then always had trouble with my sugar levels and diabetic complications. After being told I couldn’t have children I became pregnant with my son, the pregnancy didn’t go so easy, morning sickness threw my blood pressure up and sent my blood sugar levels erratic. I then became blind and had to have laser treatment to restore what sight could be saved. After a complicated birth my son was born prematurely, he had complications with his oesophagus. When I was finally able to feed him for he first time he drowned and died in my arms due to the tubes not being connected to his stomach which filled his lungs. He was able to be saved thankfully. He then had a reaction from the surgery he required and was put on life support; the first few years were very tough.4 years on I was involved in a car accident that left me very ill. I had to have a benign tumour removed from my heal Still to this day 10 years on I have an open wound that won’t heal which causes me at times not to be able to walk and admission to hospital. I have had years of treatment to save my leg from amputation. The infection in my bones cleared 6 years later but the treatment slowed my digestion and sped up the onset of gastroparesis, which has causes many digestive disorders, allergy type responses and of course thrown my diabetes out of my control. Now I am currently waiting for a kidney/pancreas transplant which could be 2 more years away that matches my rare blood type. I require this to live. I am at the final stages of renal failure. My blood sugar levels are spiking and dropping low quickly causing me to go in to diabetic comas and my 13 year old son is finding me unconscious and having to call for help and ambulances. The pressure and worry this has on my son has caused depression and anxiety, he feels responsible for me. Not something a 13 year old boy should. I need surgery to be able to help my sugar levels stop spiking and dropping so fast but my body is not strong enough to cope with the surgery.A glucose monitor that is able to call for an ambulance if I become unconscious and help me monitor my levels a lot closer and easier I hope will help me survive until the transplant and give my son reassurance its not all on him to save my life. I am not one to ask for help but this isn’t only about me, I have my son to live for also and I want to get through the next few years to get this transplant. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story'
