Dollars For Haiti

Hello! I will be returning to Mission of Hope in Haiti after going on March Break with my school, during the week of July 19th-26th, alongside two of my friends, Kaleigh Best and Jessica Haverkamp. We will be planting trees, painting houses, and most importantly walking village to village alongside a translator handing out clean water packets and tracts while spreading the word of Jesus, and praying with the people of Haiti. After being in Haiti my first time, I met a little girl named Shaylene, blonde hair from malnutrition, bloated belly, and sores all over her frail, 4 year old body, but still wearing the biggest smile you'd ever see. She became my little buddy throughout the whole week I was there, following me around and singing songs about Jesus. She taught me a little bit of French, and I taught her Bible stories, but most importantly she taught me how to love people like Jesus did, and gave me a great desire to go back to her country as soon as possible so I could bring donations of food and clothes to her family. I saw many things that have opened my eyes to the need for help in Haiti, an 80 year old man bedridden for 6months, paralyzed from the hips down due to a car accident, unable to afford surgery, and countless stories like his that will be forever engraved on my heart. I know that I am one person. With my two friends we are three. But our love for the people of Haiti, and our desire to impact even one family, is endless. I want to be able to see Shaylene again, and to make sure that she, along with all the other kids in the villages I visited get the chance to not only live, but to grow up to be strong leaders in their communities.But as this is a big dream of mine, I need the funds to back it up. My flight leaves on July 19th, 2017, and any donations would be appreciated beyond words! I need to raise $2000 to cover the cost of transportation, a bed at Mission of Hope, donations for the Haitians, and the cost of paint supplies and trees.Thank you and God bless,Meghan Vanderkruk
