Ghana & Nigeria Dental Mission Trip

Dear Family and Friends,
I am pleased to announce that I am now a third-year dental student at Howard University College of Dentistry and can officially treat patients! To get this far has been far from easy as I have had to make multiple sacrifices; however, I realize it could not have been done without all of your support, encouragement, and prayers.
I have the opportunity this summer to travel with the Organization for International Development to Ghana and Nigeria on a 15 day dental mission trip from August 6-20. On this mission I will be afforded the chance to give back to medically underserved populations in a clinical setting. Not only will I be able to gain experience as a clinician, I will also be able to have an active role in addressing health disparities within the region. As a Howard dental student, reducing the effect of disproportionate access to health care amongst populations of color is priority; therefore, I am dedicated to making this mission trip a reality.
I am in need of your financial support. I am responsible for raising around $4,000 for this mission trip that will go towards expenses, visas, multiple plane tickets, and a membership fee. I have been working in order to help defray the cost of this mission; however, I understand that in order to reach my goal I will need the support of others, and I’m asking you to partner with me in my mission. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
