Nikki's KNOCKING OUT CANCER!

Donation protected
One day you're fine, the next you're faced with a serious diagnosis you couldn't possibly have seen coming. A diagnosis you've tried to prevent and done all that you could to catch early but that ended up catching you.
Although Nikki's original diagnosis was precancerous, she opted to have a double mastectomy. I remember her saying she never wanted to feel this way again. On May 25th she had that surgery with the anticipation of being free and clear of all things cancer from then on. Unfortunately the pathology results came back with the result of Stage 3 Breast Cancer, proving that her choice of a double mastectomy had been a smart one. Though the tissue was removed, the fight isn't over. As strong of a woman as she is, this was totally unexpected. Along with a mix of many emotions came endless questions. Her years of mammograms intending to detect signs of cancer early had failed to find a hidden 3cm tumor. Two out of three sentinel nodes and two axillary came back positive from pathology.
Despite the drive being quite a ways from where she lives, Nikki has decided to go to Moffitt in Tampa for her treatment as they will provide the highest standard of care. Her intent is to travel to Tampa every other week for chemotherapy over the course of the next 4 months. Immediately following chemo, she will endure radiation 5 days a week for multiple weeks, which will require living arrangements be made in Tampa.
If you know anyone currently going through or having gone through cancer treatment, you know that it is far from pleasant and takes a huge toll on your body. Physically healing from surgery and trying to cope emotionally is tough enough without the added pressures of finances. My sister is a 44 year old single mother of 4 beautiful girls and even a granddaughter who will be cheering her along throughout this process. I am hoping to raise enough money to help reduce the stresses of out-of-pocket medical expenses as well as cover the costs of anything unforeseen, such as additional travel or hotel accommodations. Anything helps, whether the donation is big or small we'll take them all! We are so grateful for all of you and the kind, uplifting words you've provided her. The countless number of prayers you've prayed mean just as much, if not more than any monetary donation ever could but please don't let them stop here. Nikki needs prayers for strength and positivity throughout this trial in her life. God has blessed us by putting her in the right hands for treatment and giving us the wisdom and guidance to be in His will.  Thank you all for being so supportive of her thus far!
