<div>We zamelen geld in voor de training van een eigen assistentiehond voor onze zoon Siem van 11. Siem is uitgevallen op school en zit nu al een jaar thuis met een autistische burn-out. In januari heeft Siem ons een prachtig televisie programma laten zien. In ‘nog een week’ worden Tristan, een jongen van zijn leeftijd, en zijn hond Salomon een week lang gevolgd. Als ze slagen voor een gedragstest kan Salomon worden opgeleid tot assistentiehond. Door dit programma hebben we geleerd hoe specifiek honden getraind kunnen worden op boosheid en op angst.

<div>Siem is ’s nachts heel bang en kan ook heel boos worden. Hij zou dit zelf heel graag anders willen. Siem wordt nu bijna een jaar begeleid door therapiehond Columbus. Daar heeft hij al heel veel van geleerd, maar we zijn er nog niet. Daarom denken we dat een eigen assistentiehond veel voor hem en voor ons gezin zou kunnen betekenen.

<div>Samen met Bultersmekke Assistancedogs (BMA) kan Siem de komende 2 jaar onder begeleiding van een professionele instructeur in zijn eigen omgeving zelf een hond gaan opleiden tot een internationaal gecertificeerde assistentiehond (hulphond). Dit traject is heel kostbaar en wordt niet vergoed door de zorgverzekering. Dankzij lieve familie hebben we de helft van het bedrag al bij elkaar. Met de gemeente zijn we nu in gesprek over de andere helft. Maar omdat we er nu al zo van overtuigd zijn dat dit precies is wat Siem nodig heeft, willen we daar niet op wachten en zijn we deze crowdfunding gestart. Help jij ons samen met BMA het mogelijke mogelijk te maken en aan een onvoorwaardelijke vriend voor Siem? Dankjewel!
