Kay's Cancer Journey

I have known Kay, John and their girls for a few years now and couldn't ask for better friends or neighbors. Not only does Kay and John work hard for themselves but they are always there when some one calls needing help. John is always involved in fundraisers for not only the local community but for other charities that are dear to their hearts. Now it is our turn to help them. Kay and her family were recently told that she has cancer. (Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma) Kay will be having surgery on July 10th which will include removing the top left of her jaw, teeth, and most of her left palate. A skin graph will be placed with skin from her thigh. An obturator will be placed afterward (similar to a denture) it is uncertain at this time on how long her recovery process will be. As well as the possibility of radiation for 6 weeks. I have set up this account to help with their travel expenses as well as anything at home that will need to be taken care of. At this time they are unsure of how long Kay will be out of work and how much time John will have to take off. All of the treatments and procedures will be in Gainesville.
