Tyler's Journey

Tyler is currently 22 years old, born February 1995. He graduated from Southwest Edgecombe high school. Tyler became a welder which he greatly enjoyed. He has 2 beautiful young daughters, Savannah and Maddison. At the age of 2 he had his first heart surgery. As he grew older we learned this journey had just begun. Tyler was later diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder which causes Aortic Dissection ; which claimed the life of his grandfather (James Allen Causey in 1987) and his aunt (Lisa Causey Moore in 2008) and nearly claimed the life of a first cousin (Brandon Moore in 2015). The plan was to have one surgery to fix an aortic aneurysm in December 2014 which was then followed by a second surgery in 2015. In 2016 Tyler suffered a stroke causing partial paralysis to the left side of his body. Tyler has been disabled following his first surgery in 2014 although Tyler has been denied this far for any disability benefits! In April 2017 we scheduled an appointment with cardiologist specializing in abnormalities to gather a baseline to began genetic testing so other family members could be screened. Once the new heart specialist looked at his heart images he realized Tyler would once again have to undergo another life saving procedure. He has now been in ICU since June 12th 2017 with multiple complications. Tyler does have health insurance but we need help providing for a multitude of expenses: which includes medical needs, handicap accommodations, long hospital stays....
