Lets Put Shandra Back Together

Donation protected
My name is Michale Davis. I'm trying to raise money to help with medical and legal bills for one of my best friends, Shandra Loggins. Shandra was hit head on by an SUV that swerved into her lane Friday, June 23. She was a mile away from home on Hwy 19 in Dahlonega. The driver of the SUV did not survive the crash. Shandra was rushed to the trauma center at Northeast Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga. We are all so thankful that she will survive despite her extensive injuries (including a broken neck!) but she has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Shandra has a compound fracture of her right leg - she has already had the first surgery needed to help stabilize the break. An external fixator was placed but she will need another surgery in a few weeks after some of the soft tissue trauma improves. Shandra's more concerning injury involves the fractures in her cervical (neck) vertebrae. She has fracture involving the second and fifth cervical vertebrae. The neurosurgeon is very concerned that the fracture of the second vertebra may damage the spinal cord - they called it an unstable fracture. Unfortunately the surgery required to fix the fracture is very difficult and comes with some possible complications like decreasing her ability to swallow and severely limiting the mobility she has in her neck. As for now she is in a neck brace while the specialists determine the best course of action. The toughest part of all of this for Shandra is the tremendous amounts of pain she's experiencing. She's being so brave but her body has taken more trauma then imaginable.Everyone who knows Shandra and her family (Annette, her wife and Madison, her daughter )has a story to share of they have helped them out. They are the most caring, generous people I have ever met. They are the type that would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. When my husband died they were there for me 100% - they took care of me and helped me raise my kids and they will forever be my family. If there is anything I can do to help them in their time of need I'm gonna do it. Thanks why I started this page. Their financial future is completely unknown. We have no idea how long Shandra will be in the hospital, let alone when she will be able to work again. If you are able to help donate to Shandra's care we would all appreciate it so much. Much love to you all,Michale
