Support For Sonya

Life is pretty ironic sometimes isn't it? One minute you are training for a dance performance, the next you are confined to a wheel chair. Meet my mother Sonya. Ask anyone around and they will tell you how great she is. She's dedicated to dancing, working, her kids, and her family. She is the only person I know that makes the impossible look so easy to accomplish. She's like the energizer bunny that never stops. She's a giver that helps others in every way she can and never asks for help in return. She's kind of stubborn like that. So because I know she will never ask anyone for anything, I am going to do it for her. At the young age of 53, my dancing queen mom that has always been active, energetic, giving and spirited, suffered a stroke that broke her spirit and bound her to a wheel chair. For how long? Who knows? God is the one true healer. We don't have a lot of answers for the why's or how's, but then again, do we ever? I'll never understand why terrible things happen to good people. The only way out is through....and I can tell you that it will be much easier through this with your help. Remember how I said she makes the impossible look easy to accomplish? I meant that. I have faith that she will walk, and most importantly, dance once again. The last thing I need her to do while she's in rehab is stress about paying all of the medical expenses. Though she has insurance, it won't be enough to cover all of the expenses for inpatient rehab, hospital bills, house payments, and....well we all know what adulting looks like. My mother is single and her paycheck is her lifeline. She is an independent woman that takes pride in her ability to support herself. I do not know how much this is going to cost us and I can only do so much by myself, especially from a financial standpoint. She has always done everything for so many people and I want to help de-stress her life as much as possible. Any extra stress can cause another stroke, especially in these first 90 days - I am trying to keep this from happening... Her number one worry is paying these medical bills, as well as living expenses. I know she has so many people that care about her....help me show her that's she's not in this fight alone! With love,Melissa
