<div>Happy New Year! We are raising funds to commemorate the fortieth (40th) anniversary of the founding of the Louis Grant Medical Centre (LGMC, formerly the Foundation for International Self Help – F.I.S.H.Clinic), located at 19 Gordon Town Road, Kingston. Founded by our grandfather, the late Professor Louis Grant, the LGMC now serves about fifteen thousand (15,000) patients annually from all parishes of Jamaica. It aims to provide access to high quality medical, ophthalmology and dental care. The LGMC has added the Lara Otunla Counseling Centre (named after our little sister/cousin who died by suicide in 2020), to assist children and adolescents with behavioral and psycho-social issues. The LGMC also offers a pharmacy, an optical dispensary and a children’s clinic which recently opened. Fees for the various clinics and services have been maintained at comparatively low levels, consistent with the LGMC’s mandate to remain accessible to the financially challenged members of our society. There being no government subvention, financing comes mainly from patients’ fees, fundraising efforts and equipment procurement donations from funding agencies.
