Help Freddy Recover

Three days ago I received a phone call from my neighbor telling me that my dog and best friend Freddy jumped from a third story window onto the sidewalk below. Given how high up he jumped from, I immediately assumed he was dead, or dying. I rushed home to find my little guy on the sidewalk bleeding, but awake. We rushed him to the emergency pet hospital. Shockingly I was told he miraculously would survive, and if we did emergency hip surgery that Freddy could be back to normal within 10 weeks. All the vets agreed this was truly a miracle....I knew is it was wildly uncharacteristic for Fred, a normally mellow, and smart fellow to do something like this, and could only assume something spooked him. Then I received the news from the vet that Freddy had a fresh pellet gun wound in his leg. This news, was totally bizarre to me, as you can imagine, given I don't own any sort of gun, and nobody in my house does either. But it also made sense that something like that would spook my poor little dude, causing him to freak out and do something like this....Freddy had successful surgery yesterday, and is at home resting now. It is going to be a long hard road to recovery, but I will see it through. Him and I have a lifelong deal, we take care of each other, and I fully intend to honor that deal 110%...He is my best friend, and I love him so much. However, the vet bills are astronomical. Those who know me, know it is hard for me to ask for any kind of help. So this is truly humbling, but I will do whatever I need to to get this amazing dog back to running around in the park with a big smile on his face. My family has been kind enough to help where they can, but they are by no means rich, and what they have given will be felt. I fully intend to pay these people back. I have a good job, but this essentially drains all my money, and the rehabbing process will be expensive as well. And no matter what, we are gonna do this together, him and I. I'm going to make sure he gets what he deserves. He is a kind, sweet dog. Everyone who meets him loves him. He is a loyal companion, and I love him as much as I love anything. We've been through a lot together.

Whatever you can find in your heart to give, is truly going towards the well being of a fine creature. It's a miracle he survived. He's been given a second chance, and I've been given a few more good years with my special little dude. I may never know exactly what happened, but if I had to guess, I would guess that Freddy was protecting me, and my house, as a good dog should. He took one for me, so I will do right by him no matter what it takes. Thanks for reading, and thanks for any support you can give. Let's help Freddy recover. Let's do right by this dog.
