Life took an unimaginable turn last week when my 4 year old nephew Orson was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
We brought him in to the ER for leg pains - within a few hours, he was admitted after we received an alarming blood test. The next few days were spent running various exams, to discover his diagnosis.
Orson will spend the next months ahead in the Pediatric unit undergoing intensive and aggressive treatment to fight against this fast growing form of cancer; one of the most common in childhood cancer patients, in which too many immature white blood cells are found in the bone marrow and blood.
As my nephew and his family begins this lengthy 3 year journey to full recovery, we have had an outpouring of love and consolation -
For all those who reached out and asked how they could support in a tangible way for during the road to Orson’s recovery, I’ve started this campaign for you, to help me help keep my sisters family focused on recovery. An immeasurable act of support, prayer and community to a group of people, who are such beautiful, generous, and passionate keystone people to our lives.
If any of you know my sister, you know she would not do this on her own. I couldn’t think of any other way to show her how great humanity and our community is, and that we are all here to show our love and support to Orson and her family.
Every day, 230 children will be diagnosed with cancer. That’s 1 child every 2 minutes. Please help us raise awareness for our children and generations to come.
God bless you all and we feel your love and prayers.
