I'd like to introduce you to Sarah Barkley, a local triathlete quickly gaining a reputation as a fierce competitor on the national and world stage.

Sarah earned her early athletic stripes running on scholarship at the University of Montana. A sprint and hurdle specialist, she podiumed at the Big Sky Conference Championship each year, setting a school record as part of a distance medley relay. After college, she channeled the same focus and commitment that brought her college success to the sport of triathlon.

As a triathlete, Sarah has achieved USAT All-American status for the past two years, received the coveted Best Overall Female Triathlete designation from TriNW in 2011, and took top honors as the Overall Olympic Distance Champion in 2010 and 2008. In 2009 and 2011 Sarah represented Team USA at the ITU Age Group Olympic World Championships, placing as the third American in her age group, and in 2012 qualified and raced at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Las Vegas.

Sarah's community involvement is as impressive as her athletic talents. She has given back to our community by starting local athletic events, including the popular Thanks-And-Giving run, coached the Wenatchee High School track team, led womens'-only bike rides, coached free track practices open to any runner in our community, taught bike safety skills to children, coordinated corporate fitness program for businesses within our community, and participated in Career Day events at local elementary schools to emphasize the importance of health and fitness to elementary school children in our neighborhoods.

Sarah has helped make our community a better place through her involvement. But now she needs our help.

Sarah is asking for your support and help in raising money to compete and vie for a title at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship held at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada, located just minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip.
More than 1,800 domestic and international competitors have earned the right to compete in this event. Sarah is one of them.

Slated for September 8, 2013, the race begins with a 1.2-mile swim in Lake Las Vegas at Lake Las Vegas Resort. Next, athletes embark on a challenging 56-mile bike through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area that includes several steep climbs. Sarah will finish with a 13.1-mile run through Henderson's
scenic residential areas with views of the Las Vegas Strip.

Race day is quickly approaching. And we'd like to ask you to consider supporting Sarah with a financial contribution that will be used to help offset the significant travel expenses associated with this World Championship event.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
