Gino's Transplant Fund

My amazing husband Gino and I moved to Maine 10 years ago with the dream of starting a little farm and raising our own food and living sustainably from the land. After 6 years we finally found our perfect spot, and "High Hopes Farm" was born. Our dream was shattered when in June 2015 Gino was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is complicated by another condition called amyloidosis. In a nutshell, his kidneys are close to shutting down, and the only thing that will stop further damage to his organs is a stem cell translplant. He was finally given the go ahead in December for the transplant, but has to travel to another state to receive it because it is not offered at any hospitals in Maine. Gino is now in Philadelphia for a month long preparation phase before the transplant, while I am in Maine at our farm, taking care of dogs, cats, chickens etc. The reason we are trying to raise some money is to be able to afford having someone take care of the farm and our bills while I am by his side during the actual transplant. I will need to be out of work for a month or two, and will not have any income during this time. When Gino does come home, hopefully in May, I want to be able to take care of him. The transplant will leave him immunosupressed and unable to leave the house for months. I am hoping to leave Maine to be at Gino's side by the end of February. I cannot imagine not being with him during this life threatening procedure. The only way we can make this happen is to ask for the support of dear friends. It is the worst position I have ever been in and it is painful to ask, but, I am asking. IF, and only if you are able to lend financial support, we would be so very grateful.
