We are Wild Pony Eventing, a small family owned and run equine buniness WA state. Our mission is to educate the public about the versatility of the wild mustang, and to promote their adoption and use as a riding horse through training and competition. We also provide long term sanctuary to wild mustangs and help to retrain and rehome mustangs in need. Additionally we rescue and rehab OTTBs as we are able.
The money we collect via donations goes 100% toward training and show costs, which includes haul in fees, entry fees, stabling fees at shows, and travel to schooling and recognizeds shows. Currently, costs to have one horse training and showing twice a month runs about $1100. Money does not go toward feed or basic upkeep of the horses. They are our personal horses and our responsibility to care for.
This year we are continuing to show Frosty, our Mustang Embassador, and hope to get two more mustangs out eventing. We also have an OTTB Velvet who will begin her show season this year. We have a second OTTB who was rescued from a kill buyer that may do some schooling events this coming season if he rehab allows.
Kiger Frost Moon, aka Frosty, is our wild Kiger mustang pony who is also our first eventer. It has been our dream to showcase the versatility of mustangs and the ability of wild mustangs to be trained for sporthorse activities. Frosty has had a fabulous year in 2013 finishing 5th in the Area VII BNovice Championships, 4th overall in Area VII points, and qualified to go to the American Eventing Championships (AECs) In Tyler, Texas. She moved up to Novice level in 2014 and but for troubles with muscle fatigue in the final show jumping phase (later diagnosed as IR) she was always in the top 6 after dressage and clean cross country jumping!
Frosty and I are honored to represent mustangs, Kiger mustangs, and branded (wild) mustangs in the sport of eventing. We hope you can support us with a donation. Even the smallest donation helps! And of course, we invite everyone who would like to come watch and cheer us on at events! If you can't make it, we will keep yo posted via this site and or facebook pages.
