<div>My name is Bazama Alli. I am originally from Togo, and I came to the United States seeking a better life and the chance to support my family back home. Sadly, just three months after arriving, I lost my father to diabetes due to the lack of adequate treatment and financial resources in my country.

<div>Now, my mother is facing her own health battle. She has been struggling with severe back pain and abdominal pain for months and unable to perform daily task . Because of the limited medical equipment available in Togo, I had to send her to neighboring Benin for proper testing. She went through X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and finally a biopsy.

<div>The results brought heartbreaking news:

<div>She has a herniated disc in three different areas, requiring urgent surgery.

<div>She was also diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer (squamous cell carcinoma), and doctors have recommended a chemotherapy and radiotherapy as part of her treatment.

<div>In Togo and Benin, there is no medical insurance system. Everything must be paid out of pocket in cash from hospital stays to surgeries, medications, and follow-up care. These costs are far beyond what I can manage alone.
