recovery from stroke

I had a stroke June 30, 2013 and lost the use of my left side. After a month at St Luke's Hospital, one week in ICU and three weeks on the rehab floor, I have partial use of my left leg and arm. Our insurance paid for a great deal of the cost, but so far we have over $ 5,628.54 in co-pays for the first half month. We were very fortunate to have short term disability which covers our living cost. What I am asking for is help with a therapy tool called a Bioness for my arm which applies electric currents through the muscles to help relearn usage. The arm unit lists for $6,200. I have found an Occupational Therapist that has one and I can use it for a couple of hours per week but If I buy one on my own I can use it eight hours per day and improve my fine motor skills in half the time 2 - 3 months instead of 6 -9 months and then return to work so I can take care of my family.
