Zachary Palmer's Medical Fund

In late May my 18 year old son was diagnosed with colon cancer. On June 5th he had his first surgury to remove his colon, rectum, and some surrounding lymph nodes. Monday June 19th, Two weeks after surgery he has been re-admitted to the hospital with some complications. We were informed by the oncologist this morning that my son's colon cancer was stage 3 and that the cancer did make it to his lymph nodes. He will need 3-6 months of chemotherapy immediately following his second surgery. As of now, the second surgery will be Monday June 26 and the doctor says Zach will be in hospital atleast 2 more weeks. We are asking for help with the mounting expenses, hospital bills, doctor bills, and the chemotherapy to come. Anything is accepted and everything is appreciated. Here is a little history on his condtion: My son Zach was diagnosed 12 years ago (at age 6) with Ulcerative Colitis (a disease that has no cure) He suffered everyday of his childhood with severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. At the times of the worst flareups, the abdominal pain was accompanied by bloody diarrhea which was often uncontrollable. Kids can be very cruel and as you can imagine it was sometimes very hard for Zach to make it through a day at school without incident. At one point during his early high school years he was allowed to stay home and the school sent a home-bound teacher to him because his symptoms became so severe he couldn't even make the 14 mile bus ride to school without a bathroom. We were told at the time of diagnosis that his risk for colon cancer would increase after 10 years of the disease but never did we think it would actually happen. He had been thru every medication and treatment available and it seemed that none of them ever controlled his symptoms or put his disease in remission. We appreciate all the love and prayers.
