Medical Bills for Sunil (Neil)

As many of you know Sunil suffered a massive heart attack while
traveling for work in Atlanta this past February. (Thank you John for making
one of the hardest phone calls to me (Amy)!) Sunil and I spent four weeks at
Emory Hospital while Sunil slowly made progress working with the excellent
doctors there in hopes that Sunil would recover enough to make the trip back
home to ATX (come hell or high water we were coming home). Upon
returning to ATX in late March - Sunil paired up with Austin Heart and Seton
Heart Failure Clinic, because after his heart attack, Sunil's heart has not
recovered as all would have hoped. Sunil's heart is labeled chronic CHF
(congestive heart failure) with persistent low blood pressure and diabetes.
The staff at Seton Heart Failure Clinic works with Sunil weekly on
medications to maintain his fluid retention and cardio rehabilitation - but as
you can imagine this process of maintaining a somewhat normal heart function
with the help of many, many medications, doctors' visits and our stay in Atlanta is taking a toll on
the piggy bank. Sunil and I spend on average per month approx. $460 on
medication and approx. $260 on doctor co-pays.
Many of our friends and family have given their time, travel points, travel connections, food, cooking skills, prayers, dog-sitting and many other offerings of kindness - we are hesitant to ask for more - but at the encouragement of many of these same friends we are asking for any assistance/support you would feel comfortable donating to helping with the medical expenses. It is crucial that Sunil continue with the very strict compliance of all medications, as this is a large part of staying on the preparation road for a future heart transplant that the doctors say is most likely in Sunil's future.
Sunil as you know is a fighter! (Sometimes not by choice but at my "mild" encouragement) - This is his second round with a heart attack - and this time hit him a lot harder than the first - BUT God has been good and he kept my best friend here!
We know all of you have financial obligations and families - please only donate what you can - and if you are unable please know we are most grateful for your continued prayers - we and most importantly Sunil would not be here if not for all the many constant prayers.
