Jose Arias Medical Bill’s- Road To Recovery

Donation protected
On August 29th Arias got COVID. Struggled with intense symptoms, but recovered quickly. He then tested negative September 5th. He went back to work and noticed tingling on his fingers and feet. He though they just fell asleep. Over the course of the weekend, it went from tingling to extreme pain. On Saturday (11th) his girlfriend, Nancy took him to the hospital. They left with doctor saying it was Paraesthesia and would follow up with a Neurologist, but until Wednesday (15th). But since Monday (13th) he was already needing help to get around; standing, walking, sitting. At this point he was in so much pain being assisted to make sure he wouldn’t fall. Tuesday (14th) Nancy noticed his face had become partially numb - left side. She rushed him to the hospital and was admitted. The doctor's performed a CT scan, chest X-ray, MRI, and Spinal Fluid. The next day Wednesday (15th) doctors diagnosed him with Bell's Palsy and Guillain-Barré syndrome. They began reversing the effects with IVIG. He was placed in the ICU floor- Intensive Care Unit. With this condition it could have lead him into life support. He had respiratory checking his lungs twice a day. Thursday (16th), he had been recovering slowly, but some sensation in his upper body. On Friday (17th) he was able to sit up in a chair for the first time since he had been admitted. Saturday (18th) in the morning, doctor's felt that he had progressed enough to be moved out of ICU. The doctor kept him in the hospital for another two weeks to receive therapy in order to gain strength to get in a wheelchair. Arias was able to regain more feeling in his upper body, but cannot feel most of his legs or feet. He has been working on upper body as well as standing for a few seconds at a time. He has progressed well, but there is still a LONG way to recovery.

He was released from the hospital until October 1st. He was able to get charity at home health. He will have a nurse and physical therapist come to the house to work with him. This will only last 3 weeks. Which means he needs to continue getting physical therapy, but will require trips to a facility and an expense that will come out of pocket.

He is needing assistance 24/7 for everything. All the money raised will go directly to pay physical therapy, medical bills, any other medical equipment, medication, and anything he will need to continue his recovery. He is currently on a wheelchair which had to be purchased before he left the hospital.

We ask that you help us share this and continue to pray for him. Please keep him in your prayers. We thank you in advance for your prayers and donations. May God bless you and multiply your blessings for your generosity.
