A Mom On A Mission

Hi, my name is Holly and it has taken me a lot of humbling and praying about the decision to ask for help in this way, but I know that sometimes asking for help isn't such a bad thing, especially when you have some amazing people encouraging you along the way. So, here I am... and this is my story. I am a single mom and I have four daughters ages 2, 3, 11, and 13. I am really struggling with trying to provide a place for us to call home. A little over a year ago I moved back home to California from Virginia as I left a very horrible domestic violence relationship. I packed my kids in my car, and left everything behind me, with hopes of starting a new healthy and safe life with my daughters. Since we've arrived in my home town, trying to find a place has been excruciatingly difficult. As a result of the relationship I left behind, I still carry the weight of it financially and I have evictions, which are preventing me from providing a loving and stable home for my children.  My children and I have stayed in the OVFS, (until they closed after the winter months) a transitional living facility, (until my 2 year old became VERY ill for almost 14 weeks) as well as with my grandmother for as long as we could. My grandma lives in a 55+ senior community and we are no longer able to stay here. We have until June 20, 2017 to be out, or she faces eviction herself. I cannot tell you how many places I have been, how many shelters I have called, and how many resources I have exhausted trying to get me and my children a place to live. There are no shelters that have room for me and four daughters, and as a mother....my heart is beyond hurting, because the one thing that my children need is a stable place to call home and I'm trying as hard as I can.  I do work and have a full time job, I run my own homebased business with "Perfectly Posh" to help wirh added income, I have a zero balance on my credit cards (even though they are small limit cards), I don't do drugs of any kind, and I have no criminal history, yet all the routes I've tried, no one can see beyond my past to take a chance on me and rent to my daughters and I.

This GoFundMe will help us financially to at least stay in a hotel, put down towards a place if someone can see beyond my past and take a chance with me, and can help off set the amount of rent I am able to pay, should a place be offered to us)
