Repairs for Ministry Van

My dear friends & supporters, The most critical tools necessary for the CCO campus ministry work I do (serving all yet focused on contextual ministry to Black students--a desperately needed but contextually under-served demographic) are 1) the Holy Spirit, 2) the biblical scriptures, 3) my powers of articulation and 4) my 2007 Chyrsler Town & Country van! I go out of my way, traversing the extremes of Allegheny County and beyond to serve students at Pitt, CCAC Boyce & Allegheny, Chatham and Washington & Jefferson. I do so driven by the missional conviction found in Luke 15:5-7 about the 'one lost sheep'. Last year at this time I was raising $600 to repair and pass inspection for this van. This year, shortly after my extended service warranty has expired, NOW my transmission decides to die (actually, its just the rear-drive gear/clutch but the cost of repair or replacement is essentially a new tranny!) Parts & labor plus a few other costly items for inspection run north of $2,800. We can either a) put $3,000 down on a new van (w/ trade-in value and warranty point savings) OR repair THIS van, drive it until the completion of van payments in March 2018, then pull all out the stops THEN buy a new van. Can you help me (and my family...also for the sake of my wife Ngozi's work serving 'under-served' minority mothers & babies in Allegheny County through UPMC-Magee as well as through her private service Sankofa Lactation Services, also through her non-profit group, the Pittsburgh Black Breastfeeding Circle) To say the least, we either have our own adequate transportation--our 7-passenger van for our 7-member family (Uber...too expensive and unrealistic; public transportation...cheap but unreliable and unrealistic) OR we're out of luck!
