David and I found out in 2004 that we could not have children on our own. We were young and busy and mostly tried not to think about it. We both always try to focus on the good in our lives and not dwell on negativity. For a while, we just told everyone that we didn't want children because it's a lot easier than saying "I can't have children" We still do and always have wanted children. It's been a long road and as my friends and family know neither of us are very good at asking for help, but we are asking now.

In 2009, we actively started trying to have children :) smile, that's funny.

For most trying to have children can be a lot of fun. For us, it meant going to the doctors a lot and receiving a lot of bad news. It's means getting poked with a lot of needles, painful dye tests, hospital gowns, disappointment and emotional exhaustion.

In 2010, we went through seven IUI's. If you want to understand what an IUI is check out this link http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/intrauterine-insemination/MY00104
All of these treatments went unsuccessful...

We are blessed to live close to one of the top three fertility clinics in the country! Finally, some good news! We recently went to see the doctors at Oregon Reproductive Medicine. They told us last Thursday that IVF (In-Vetro Fertilization) is our only option. We were expecting that outcome and have been saving for the last 3 years. All of our IUI's were covered by insurance but unfortunately IVF is not.

IVF costs anywhere from $12000 to $20000 dollars and our doctors say ours will fall somewhere in the middle.

It's been a long road to get to the point where we can talk about it but the more we open up the more support we get :) We are both ready to open up so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

We will also be taking donations in the form of prayers :)
