Nursing in Africa

On October 12, 2013, I have decided to devote my time, energy and motivation to a worthy cause. I will be spending three weeks in Africa volunteering in the local health care clinic, hospital and local tribe trying to make a difference in the lives of others. I will be traveling through an organization called Work the World, alongside a colleague of mine, Kayla.


During my time in Africa I will assist local nurses and doctors in their daily efforts to help those less fortunate. In addition to offering a helping hand as a nurse, I will be visiting local orphanages to help care for the children.


The children and adult population of Africa suffer from extreme poverty, lack of resources, education and suffer from diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and TB. Mothers, Fathers and children die daily due to the lack of time and resources in under developed countries. Through my humanitarian efforts I hope to offer a helping hand to those in need!


This trip has been a goal of mine for several years and a cause I really care about. In the end, with airfare, vaccines, insurance, visas and living accommodations this trip is going to cost $5,000. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated!
